She is now officially a “Dame,” declared and rewarded by Prince Charles, in an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Thursday morning (March 26, 2015). The 81-year old English actress, author and columnist, Joan Collins celebrated being a ‘matron, the female knight’ for her contribution towards Arts in front of her husband (Percy Gibson), son (Alexander Newley) and daughter (Tara Newley ), and the British Royals. Considered to be the Most Noble Order of the Garter, Collins was presented with the title of Dame of the British Empire.

Receiving this accolade from the current Duke to the UK Throne Prince of Wales, Joan expressed her excitement and said, “I’m so thrilled. It is extraordinary. It’s something I never, ever would’ve expected. I’m terribly, terribly honored. I really am. And I hope I can live up to what being a dame means.” And now she becomes the ‘Dynasty’ star. She even added, “I will not ask anybody [to call me ‘dame’].”If they choose to call me Dame Joan, I will be delighted. But most people will still call me Joan.”

It was fantastic to see the unbeatably graceful and glamorous Joan, though living in her 80’s. She appears to be quite young than her age. Joan is the real fashion icon for women of all ages. Dressed in a white hem with a huge white headdress having a black net veil, black and white heels, and black velveteen gloves, this new British Dame looked immaculate and chic. She embellished her slender neck with a sparkling fusion of pearls and diamonds. Her huge white floral studs well-complemented the lady in white. It is said that the lady designed the dress herself for this regal commemoration. Collin’s hat is a phenomenal idea for new brides-to-be who are going to tie the knot this Spring season.

Joan’s damehood with the most feminine looks

We could see royalty at its peak while Joan was accompanied by her daughter in a red skirt and tartan jacket. Both mom and daughter featured elegance and supremacy through their costumes and accessories. They gaily celebrated Joan’s damehood with the most feminine looks.

Congratulations to Joan Collins for earning this honorable appellation. Looking forward to some phenomenal works coming ahead from the new Lady Commander.
